I lost my job last week and I am looking for a business to run from my home office. I like sales and marketing. I am not interested in MLM opportunities because what I have read here they are all scams and I don’t think I would feel comfortable selling over priced products.
My paraents were in AMWAY in the late 70′s and early 80′s and as a kid, I watched them loose most of their friends and lost touch with family members because of the hope they put in the soap. Eventually, the lost of the people around them affected their marriage and they got divorced.
I am looking for something I can feel good about and not deceive a person into something that is not real. Any ideas?

I’m looking for good ideas on what type of home-based business to start-up. I’ve was recently “laid off” but I have funds put aside. Really, I don’t wish to go back to working for someone else. I would like to hear about some solid, proven, home business or perhaps franchises that can be run from home maybe a computer/internet based service business. No MLM, affiliates programs, pyramid schemes or anything of the sort.
Ideas that have crossed my mind:
Blogging (I live in a tourist town and thought there might be opportunity in providing info about events in town).
Online tutoring (Spanish, software programs like Photoshop).
Domain name selling (like a reseller)
Web site building (would have to learn web design first)
Virtual Office Assistant.
